September 22, 29: Every Tuesday in Rumford: Bingo at the Rumford Eagles 129 Rumford Avenue, Rumford. Doors open at 3 pm, Bingo begins at 5:30.
September 16 - September 19: The Oxford County Fair returns to the Oxford Fairgrounds at 67 Pottle Road in Oxford. Admission is three dollars Wednesday, eight dollars, Thursday, ten dollars Friday and fifteen dollars Saturday, with children five and under admitted free Thursday through Saturday. Opening day includes Educational Day and a Junior Fireman's Muster beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday evening, there will be an Open Mic and Acoustic Jam from 5 to 9. The Youth Livestock Market Auction takes place Friday morning at 9, while traditional steer and ox pulling is scheduled for Friday and Saturday mornings at 9. Friday and Saturday nights at 7, the fairgrounds will host demolition derbies in the grandstands, with top prizes of $1,500. A new Wheels 'N' Steel thrill show is also part of this year's fair. September 16: Baked bean supper at Locke Mills Union Church, Rt. 26, Greenwood. 4:30 to 6:30 pm Free with donations accepted. Cole slaw hot dogs dinner rolls, cornbread, baked beans and dessert.
Saturday, September 19: Bethel Harvestfest will take over the Bethel Town Common from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free community event celebrates the harvest and the beginning of the fall foliage season. More than 60 local crafters, artisans and farmers are expected, along with a farmers' market, live music, children's activities and the annual Apple Pie Contest. Free guided tours of the Hancock Lumber mill are

Wednesday, September 23, Back to School Fashion Show, Rumford, What Not Shop, 85 Lincoln Avenue, 10 am. Open to all ages.
