FRIDAY NIGHT was a busy one on the football field.

Oxford Hills defeated Deering, 42 to nothing.

Mountain Valley fell to Mattanawcook Academy, 14 to 6.

Dirigo was defeated by Morse, 30 to 15.

Sacopee Valley fell to Maranacook, 47 to 20.

Fryeburg Academy lost to Lawrence, 27 to 14.

Poland Regional defeated Maine Central Institute, 34 to 14.

IN FIELD HOCKEY, Mountain Valley defeated Dirigo, 4 to 1.

SATURDAY brought a full slate of local soccer action.

Telstar put together one of the weekend's biggest wins, shutting out Traip Academy, 60 to nothing.

Fryeburg Academy had a strong day on the soccer field. The girls defeated Lincoln Academy, 3 to 1, while the boys came away with a 7 to 1 victory over Lincoln Academy.

Fryeburg field hockey fell to Spruce Mountain, 6 to 1.

Mountain Valley boys soccer defeated Winthrop, 3 to 2.

Sacopee Valley boys soccer edged Spruce Mountain, 1 to nothing.

Poland girls soccer defeated Leavitt, 4 to 2, while Poland field hockey shut out Waterville, 5 to nothing.

IN VOLLEYBALL, the Massabesic/Sacopee Valley cooperative team fell to Deering, three sets to two.

Gould Academy faced Tilton in three varsity contests Saturday. The girls field hockey team fell 6 to nothing, the girls soccer team lost 5 to nothing, and the boys soccer team was defeated 8 to 1.
